Three visual works
exploring the fragmentation and reconstruction of self
CONCEPT
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with golden lacquer, transforming fractures into beauty. Each break becomes part of the object's history.
The exhibition "Kintsugi: Riparazione dell'Anima" brought together three artists exploring this philosophy through different mediums. While the theme centered on transformation and healing, my work focused on a different moment: the fracture itself.
I wanted to capture when the break becomes visible and the impact is undeniable. Through mixed media photography combining collage, printing, and paint, I froze this suspended instant: he self made aware of its own fragmentation, the vulnerability exposed, the fracture before the gold.

THE EXHIBITION
Presented during Salone del Mobile 2023 in Milan's Porta Venezia, the exhibition invited viewers to recognize their own golden cracks, the visible and invisible marks we all carry.
Each artist explored the theme through their practice. Fiorumi's ikebana-inspired installations used recycled flowers to examine rebirth. Mauro Calenzani's photography captured the delicate beauty of healing. Minimecose's poem "Continuamente" gave voice to the emotional weight of breaking and becoming. My work held the space between.
At the heart stood a collaborative photograph: Matteo Csepeli's lens meeting Fiorumi's vision, brought to life with all artists participating. A rare convergence of mediums.

“Poi riemergo afferrando
Un sussurro e un filo di luce
Accarezzo le mie paure
Mi abbandono nel cuore
Di chi mi vuole felice.”
